What follows is an abbreviated project profile on Stella Maris’ custom-designed Sargent Chemical Injection System, which was custom-designed for Deep Gulf Energy.
Client: Deep Gulf Energy
Project: Sargent Chemical Injection System
The Task: Deep Gulf Energy, an independent oil and gas exploration, development and production company with principal operations in the Gulf of Mexico, called upon Stella Maris to design and build a Chemical Injection System capable of supplying MEOH at rates varying from 0.1 to 1.3 gallons per minute at 10,000 psi. The system also needed to provide the capability to slipstream low dosage corrosion inhibitor into the methanol stream to the well head. The design also required the capability to inject methanol at the boarding valve.
The system, which would be dubbed the Sargent Chemical Injection System, required the design, fabrication and testing of a process skid with pumps and plumbing necessary to support methanol injection, methanol dosing and corrosion inhibitor for the Sargent subsea well.
System Design:
• Methanol Service
• Two 0.1 to 1.3 GPM at 10,000 psi
• 10 HP, VFD-controlled, electric-driven triplex piston pumps
• Redundant Filter System
• Flow Meters with low flow alarm capabilities
• PLC-Based process control interface to platform control system
Stella Maris on the Move
Stella Maris recently relocated to newly built headquarters, marking a major expansion of its manufacturing facility in Lafayette, Louisiana. The new expanded facility has tripled our footprint to a total of 22,000 square feet.
